NATO M&S Integration Specialist Course Successfully concluded
The 9th edition of the NATO Exercise Support, M&S Integration Specialist Course successfully concluded following an intensive week of training conducted from May 4–8 at the NATO Modelling & Simulation Centre of Excellence (M&S COE).
The course welcomed 15 international students from Allied nations and partner organizations, further reinforcing NATO’s commitment to multinational cooperation, interoperability, and technological advancement in the field of Modelling & Simulation (M&S).
Conducted in direct support of Allied Command Transformation (ACT) and the NATO Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC) in Poland, the activity represented a key contribution to NATO’s operational training and exercise capabilities.
Recognized as one of the most technically focused training activities within the M&S COE education portfolio, the course was delivered with the active participation of expert instructors from the Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC) and the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA).
Throughout the week, participants engaged in advanced technical sessions addressing the integration of simulation systems within complex military exercise environments.
A major focus of the training was dedicated to practical activities involving development of simulation federations utilizing NATO simulation platforms, particularly JCATS and VBS4.
Students worked within distributed and federated simulation scenarios designed to replicate operational and tactical environments, enhancing their understanding of interoperability, exercise support procedures, and simulation-driven decision-making processes.
Colonel Felice De Rosa, Director of the NATO M&S COE, emphasized the strategic value of advanced M&S training in strengthening NATO readiness and interoperability. He highlighted how international cooperation and continuous innovation remain essential elements in preparing personnel to address evolving operational challenges within modern military environments.
The successful completion of the 9th edition once again confirmed the NATO M&S COE’s role as a leading institution in delivering high-quality education and training solutions that directly support Alliance preparedness and operational effectiveness.
Do not miss the upcoming NATO M&S COE training opportunities scheduled for July 2026, including the NATO JTLS-GO Foundation Course and the CAX Specialist Course. These activities will continue supporting NATO education and training efforts through advanced simulation-based learning and operational exercise support.

+++++++++++++
The NATO Modelling & Simulation Centre of Excellence is dedicated to the promotion of Modelling & Simulation in support of operational requirements, training and interoperability. The Centre act as a catalyst for transformation through the involvement of NATO, governments, academia, industry, operational and training entities, by improving the networking of NATO and nationally owned Modelling & Simulation systems, the cooperation between Nations and organizations through the sharing of Modelling & Simulation information and developments and serving as an international source of expertise for transformation in the related domain. https://www.mscoe.org
NATO Centres of Excellence are nationally or multi-nationally funded institutions accredited by NATO. They train and educate leaders and specialists from NATO member and partner countries, assist in doctrine development, identify lessons learned, improve interoperability and capabilities, and test and validate concepts through experimentation. They offer recognized expertise and experience that is of benefit to the Alliance and support the transformation of NATO, while avoiding the duplication of assets, resources and capabilities already present within the NATO command structure. Although not part of the NATO command structure, they are part of a wider framework supporting NATO Command Arrangements. [source https://www.act.nato.int/centres-of-excellence]
