NATO M&S Integration Specialist Course: Successfully Completes Its 8th Edition

The 8th edition of the NATO Exercise Support, M&S Integration Specialist Course successfully concluded on May 23, 2025, after running from May 19–23. Hosted by the NATO Modelling & Simulation Centre of Excellence (M&S COE), the course attracted participants from different Allied nations, reaffirming NATO’s commitment to multinational collaboration to tackle complex operational challenges.
Delivered in collaboration with distinguished international partners including the NATO Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC), the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA), and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) from the United States, the course provided participants with an intensive learning experience focused on advanced integration of Modelling & Simulation (M&S) tools within military exercise planning and execution.
Throughout the week, specialists collaborated on highly realistic scenarios, navigating technical challenges demanding precision, interoperability, and rapid adaptability. Notably, participants engaged with a federation of simulators, each with distinct operational scopes, simultaneously integrated into unified scenarios. This unique setup enabled targeted training at operational and tactical levels, significantly enhancing preparedness and proficiency across different command echelons.
Colonel Francesco Pacillo, Director of NATO M&S COE, highlighted the significance of the course, noting that it stands out as one of the most technologically advanced within the COE’s training portfolio, underscoring an ongoing commitment to innovation and operational excellence.
The training outcomes directly boost operational capabilities, equipping personnel with cutting-edge skills to effectively execute real-world missions through innovative simulation methodologies.
